When we started the Relax to the Max chair massage school Canada was the friendliest country in which to begin. The nature of the massage regulations in Canada allowed anyone taking the program to practice chair massage in their respective province.

Regulated provinces protected the title “massage therapist”, but allowed the act of doing massage to be public domain. That helped the public recognize who had extensive training in rehabilitation while allowing the public the freedom to choose alternative forms of massage and bodywork, like aromatherapy, reflexology and chair  massage, for wellness and health promotion purposes.

In terms of chair massage schools Canada remains one of the best places to train and practice.

States in the USA are becoming regulated at a very fast rate. Unfortunately, the regulations usually cover the act of doing massage, so that essentially no one but massage therapists can touch someone for a living. This limits public choice and has resulted in a great deal of conflict between massage therapists, estheticians and other regulated health professionals over who has the right to touch people and who has the right to touch which parts of a person.

The chair massage school in Toronto is offered both in the weekend and the two-week intensive format. People have traveled literally from all over the world to come to the Relax to the Max chair massage school. We’ve trained students from throughout the United States, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and even Australia.

Once a year Relax to the Max sets up its chair massage school in London. That’s London, Ontario, not London, England. It’s central to most of southwestern Ontario.

Chair massage schools in Vancouver, British Columbia, are scheduled throughout the year with a two week intensive held every summer. Recently, the operation of all the Relax to the Max chair massage schools in British Columbia has been handed over to someone locally in Vancouver. For the first time in 2005 we will be setting up a chair massage school in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Although we have had a number of “easterners” travel to central Canada for the Relax to the Max school, this will be the first time that we are bringing chair massage out to the east coast of Canada. This will be a two week intensive chair massage school.

When Relax to the Max expanded its chair massage school Ottawa, Ontario, was the second city to host the training. Currently, two programs are scheduled each year in Ottawa. Despite being a little cold in the winter, Canada’s capital is a wonderful city and centrally located to students throughout eastern Ontario.

Other chair massage courses in Canada
Besides these permanent training centres. Each year Relax to the Max usually offers three to six additional classes in various cities throughout Ontario and occasionally in other provinces. These chair massage schools rotate through various cities like Hamilton, Kitchener, Waterloo, Brampton, Burlington, Mississauga, Whitby, Ajax, Richmond Hill, North Bay, Sudbury, and others. In British Columbia the courses are occasionally offered in Prince George, Kamloops and other cities.
